Who is allowed to use the Fitness Centers?

The Fitness Centers are open to all categories of the military, DoD Civilians, dependents, and contractors.

What equipment do the Fitness Centers have?

The Joint Base Charleston Fitness Centers are equipped with cardiovascular equipment, full-range strength equipment, pin select machines, free weights, a basketball and volleyball court, access to group fitness classes and more!

Both of our outdoor fitness areas offer shade structures to help keep you comfortable. The main Fitness Center outdoor exercise area is equipped with several cardio machines, weight benches, push-sled, tires and a stocked BeaverFit Locker.

Do I have to pay for workout classes?

No, you do not have to pay to sign up for the workout classes. All you need is a DoD ID or your dependent ID to enter the facility.

Are there locker rooms in all Fitness Centers?

All fitness centers on Joint Base Charleston have men’s and women’s locker rooms. The locker rooms are equipped with dry sauna, showers, and day-use lockers.

Intramural Sports

A wide variety of team sports comprise our intramural competitions. Soccer and softball leagues are offered in early spring, with basketball leagues offered in fall/winter. Individual sports such as racquetball, tennis, disc golf, etc., are offered as intramural competition throughout the year. Sports like table tennis, darts and horseshoes are also offered.

Fitness Access

DoD Customers 18 years old or older are authorized to enroll in the after hours access program upon reading and signing the Statement of Understanding. All individuals must read the SoU, sign, date, provide phone number and email address prior to registering at the Fitness Center. Individuals that do not follow SoU guidance will lose privileges for 30 days for first infraction and 60 days or longer for second infraction. The Fitness Center director/designee has the right to terminate my privileges at any time without notice.
