Ultimate Indoor Fitness Challenge
Sam’s Fitness Center on the Weapons Station is challenging you to be part of this year’s Ultimate Indoor Fitness Challenge, Friday, Feb. 26. From 12 to 5 p.m., the basketball court will be transformed into a course of multiple fitness stations that will challenge your strength and endurance. Prizes will be awarded to the male, female and team with the fastest times through the course. This event is free and open to ages 16 and up, military and civilian. Sign-ups are now underway at the front desk in Sam’s Fitness Center and are available up to and during the day of the challenge. Proud, local commercial for this event is USAA. Executive order mandates new COVID-19 precautions at fitness centers
Recently published Executive Order 13991 mandates new guidelines become effective immediately for all government/military fitness centers. The guidelines included: masks must be worn during all activities; room capacities will be enforced; maintain social distance of at least six feet; sauna use is not permitted; all equipment must be wiped before and after use; water fountains are for bottle refills only; equipment will not be handed out; all personnel will exit only through designated areas/doors. March teen baby-sitting course sign-ups OPEN
Youth ages 11-15 who are interested in earning money as a baby-sitter are highly encouraged to take the Red Cross certified baby-sitters course at the Air Base youth center Saturday, Mar. 20. During class, students will learn about the business of baby-sitting, along with the safety of infants and basic child care. This is a co-ed course. Cost is $45 for Youth Programs members; $50 for nonmembers. Class time is 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Youth are asked to bring a bag lunch. Military Spouse Fellowship Program Information Session. Feb. 26, 1 p.m. Join Hiring Our Heroes for an information session for prospective fellows. The Military Spouse Fellowship Program provides military spouses with professional training, networking, and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce. The professional development and direct connection to local employers offered through the 6-week program enable military spouses to quickly build their networks and gain localized work experience.

Career preparation opportunity. AMPLIFY is an exclusive two-day event Mar. 23-24 that leads a group of military spouses through intensive career preparation, professional development and networking. AMPLIFY attendees will leave with an improved resume, a polished LinkedIn profile and a professional network of fellow military spouses and employers. Attendees will be given the opportunity to: connect with a hand-picked career coach or industry leader; participate in interactive sessions on public/professional speaking, salary negotiations, networking skills, personal branding, interview techniques and military spouse entrepreneurial options; interact with local and national companies. Please note that registration is required as group size is limited to ensure each attendee is given one-on-one attention. Registrants will be notified of acceptance into the program and given further instructions via email following this initial registration. Acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis.
